The BioInnovation Center has been honored with a national award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the 2016 SBA Growth Accelerator Fund Competition. The $50,000 funding from this competitive award will support the organization’s operations and programs over the next year. This is the third annual SBA Growth Accelerator Fund Competition, which focuses on supporting organizations that fill geographic gaps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem space, particularly those located in regions with access to fewer sources of capital for emerging companies. The Center is among 68 winners from thirty-two states chosen for $3.4 million in total prizes this year, drawn from a pool of more than 400 applicants nationwide. There were no other 2016 winners located in Louisiana.
